This map is not identical to the 2011 course and should be used as a representation of the direction and general fence positioning. While all fences represented on this map are will be on the 2012 course, certain options have been added for the 2012 course. There are described here, and there will be a paper map available in the tack room at the Green Spring Valley Hound after March 1, 2012 that is exact.

There are two crossings of Mantua Mill Road--both will be mulched.

Fence #12 is an optional fence; it is a three foot nine post and rail fence. It will be flagged so that if it is not to be jumped, the team must go around the fence to the left (outside) not to the right (inside). Foxhall Farm Cup participants (fast time) will receive a five second deduction from the Team's final time for each team member that jumps that fence. Full Cry Cup participants (averaged time) may jump it but will not receive any time credits.

Mind the flagged crossings of the Grand National Course. The goal is to stay off of the course, except at two specifically flagged crossings. Fences #13 (round bales) and #16 (square bales) both have portable timber options this year which may be jumped as an alternative to the round or square bales by competitors who choose not to jump the bales, but wish to remain in competition. The two optional timber fences will be placed in the vicinity of each of the bale jumps, but off the "line" of the course so that participants who elect to jump the portable timber options will lose time.
