For Juniors who have not reached their 7th birthday as of the first of the year, on ponies. All ponies must have a leadline attached to their bridle and must be accompanied by an adult. Entries breaking out of the trot must go behind the last entry in the field before continuing or may be disqualified. Distance: About 1/16 mile.

About 1 mile, open to amateur riders 15-18-year olds, riding horses 4 yrs. old and up on the flat. Rider’s age given at entry. Any rider younger than 15 must seek approval from the committee before entering. Catch weights. $50 Groom Award.
11TH RACE—HUNT TEAM RELAY RACE
Governor’s Cup Hunt Club Challenge
Flat, about 2 miles, 4 members per team, each team member to ride 1/2 lap (approximately 1/2 mile each) and pass baton to the next member. Entries will be limited to 5 teams, Governor’s Cup Hunt Club Teams preferred, additional entries may be accepted to fill the race. Team members must be members of the Hunt Club for which they are riding, and can not ride in any other race of the day except junior races. Horses must be fairly hunted (6 times, by rider, during the past season) and may not be cross entered in any other race of the day. To be ridden in hunting tack and attire, catch weights. Baton provided at meet. Open to Maryland hunt clubs participating in the Governor’s Cup Series. Team must be nominated by the club, with horses and riders approved by the Masters. Each team member pays entry fee; winning team receives 50% of total team entries plus $500 and EcoGold saddle pads. 5 team limit. $50 Groom Award.
Entry Fee $25 (except Races 1 & 8, Entry Fee $15)
Leading Trainer of the Day Award: Awarded to the Trainer accumulating the most points during the day.
Leading Jockey of the Day Award: The Al Smith Jr. Memorial Trophy will be given to the Jockey accumulating the most points during the day.
